Mary’s childhood years saw the family stationed in a variety of locations, including Malta and Norway, finally returning to West Meon in 1964. In 1990, Mary moved back to West Meon, where she married company director John Dawson the following year. Mary Dawson(Image: Juliet Dawson)In addition to her professional career, Mary founded West Meon Theatre in 1993, a community theatre group performing a broad range of productions from Shakespeare to musical theatre, to pantomime and cabaret evenings. West Meon Theatre is committed to honouring Mary’s legacy and is currently planning its Christmas production, A Christmas Carol. Mary’s funeral was held at St John the Evangelist church in West Meon on Friday, September 5.
