['Sophie Day']
Hampshire Chronicle | News
Channel Islands Occupied: A Living History, created by Twyford-based TV producer Brian Matthews, tells the story of the German occupation of the Channel Islands during the Second World War.
The documentary was shot on location in Guernsey and Alderney and features interviews with survivors of the 1940–45 occupation.
(Image: Supplied)Major Evan Ozanne, then deputy director of Guernsey Tourism, allowed the film to be subtitled the Official Guernsey Liberation Video.
Filmed in and around Guernsey’s German Occupation Museum, it includes rare US and UK archive footage.
Mr Matthews, cameraman Ian Fraser, and Hollywood audio producer Dirk Maggs have brought the documentary back to the screen to mark the 80th anniversary of the islands’ liberation.
