Airtel Africa has announced a partnership with SpaceX to deliver Starlink high-speed internet services to its customers across the continent. Under the agreement, SpaceX has secured operating licenses in 9 of Airtel Africa’s 14 markets, with licenses for the remaining 5 countries in progress. Additionally, Airtel Africa will explore rural coverage expansion through cellular backhauling, leveraging Starlink’s satellite technology. SpaceX will benefit from Airtel Africa’s extensive ground network infrastructure, creating synergies that amplify the impact of this partnership.
