The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out a successful operation in Ferozewala, seizing and destroying over 60,000 kilograms of expired frozen chicken, 400 kilograms of fungus-infected spices, and large quantities of rotten vegetables from a cold storage facility. The raid was conducted under the supervision of PFA Director General Asim Javed, with food safety teams discovering foul-smelling and hazardous frozen chicken products, including karahi boti, chicken tikka boti, fajita, liver, neck pieces, and kebabs. Officials revealed that expired and fresh stock had been stored together on the same racks, a serious violation of safety standards. During the operation, expired chicken worth more than Rs 61.5 million was destroyed. Authorities imposed a fine of Rs 1 million on the offenders, while two suspects were arrested and cases registered against them for food safety violations and fraud.
