The event, titled No Place to Call Home, will feature a special screening of Ken Loach’s award-winning film I, Daniel Blake. It takes place in the town’s The Brewhouse theatre at 6.45pm on Monday, October 6, to mark World Homeless Day and World Mental Health Day. Following the screening, a live panel discussion will feature people with lived experience of homelessness and frontline support workers. They will share stories, challenges and insights into the realities of homelessness and mental health in Somerset. The instability is often tied to poor mental health, creating a difficult-to-break cycle without community understanding and support.
