Somerset Council published its new Yeovil town centre masterplan in mid-August, which intends to deliver new homes, commercial space and local facilities on four prominent brownfield sites in the heart of the town. Ian Timms, the project manager for the Yeovil Refresh, spoke to the Local Democracy Reporting Service about the town centre masterplan at the Yeovil Super Saturday event held on September 20. He said: "We're putting together the high-level principles for development in Yeovil town centre. Mr Timms said: "We're trying to connect Ninesprings Country Park - a fantastic facility - with the town centre, 'greening up' the town centre and making it a better place to be ." "The masterplan will guide the regeneration of not just the town centre but also the wider urban area."
