A ROSS-SHIRE woman has admitted embezzling thousands of pounds from a gala association while working on a raffle ticket fundraiser. Veronica Morrison, who once ran for an Easter Ross seat on Highland Council, admitted the offence against Tain Gala Association at the town’s sheriff court. Veronica Morrison, who stood unsuccessfully for Highland Council in 2023, admitted embezzling funds from Tain Gala Association. The charge states that between November 2023 and May 2024 she, “while facilitating a raffle ticket fundraiser on behalf of Tain Gala Association”, embezzled £8061. Tain Gala Association is a non-profit organisation which produces events throughout the year for the benefit of local communities.
