Like most wars, the current appalling violence in the Ukraine is proving that propaganda is as useful a weapon as is any rocket or machine gun. There’s been widespread reports that Russian TV is reporting that its soldiers have invaded its neighbour to save if from apparent Nazism. Now a clip has gone viral that purports to show cadavers in body bags still moving that infers the Ukraine has been fabricating its casualty numbers, with some conspiracy theorists claiming it’s proof of “crisis actors” playing roles. But the video is actually from a climate change protest that has now been edited to appear as though it was recorded in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion. The video, circulating on social media, has forced CNN reporter, Daniel Dale, to create a thread debunking the clip.
