DJI: ‘DJI Is Not Controlled by the Government and Has No Ties to the Military’

In response to a court ruling last week, DJI has published a statement on its blog reiterating that it is not controlled by the Chinese government and has no ties to the nation’s military. Last week, DJI lost a lawsuit it filed last year against the U.S. Department of Justice, arguing that it should not be listed as a Chinese military or military-associated company. On the Department of Defense’s list of “entities identified as Chinese Military Companies,” last updated in January, DJI is listed as Shenzen DJI Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (DJI). “DJI remains dedicated to advancing drone technology that benefits society, and we are evaluating avenues available to respond to this ruling. Our focus is, and will continue to be, on empowering creators, businesses, and public safety organizations worldwide with safe, innovative, and accessible technology,” DJI says.
