WARWICKSHIRE and England all-rounder Chris Woakes has retired from international cricket after missing out on a place in the Ashes squad. Woakes played in 62 test matches, 122 one-day internationals and 33 T20 games for England after making his debut for his country in 2011. The 36-year-old helped England win the 50-over World Cup in 2019 and the T20 World Cup in 2022. The all-rounder came out to bat with his left arm in a sling despite suffering from a suspected dislocated shoulder. He failed to earn a place in England’s 16-man Ashes squad with England to play Australia this winter.
