This photograph shows Francis Murry Carter, (1886-1962), copied from the 1933 Kansas Legislative Blue Book. Carter was a farmer, stockman, and banker from Hamilton County, Kansas. In addition, Carter served as director of the Valley State Bank in Syracuse, Kansas. Carter was elected in 1930 to the Kansas House of Representatives as a Democrat from the 117th District. When Carter passed away on January 04, 1962 in Syracuse, Kansas, at the age of seventy-five, he was the oldest member of the Kansas House of Representatives.
