NORTHERN TOWNSHIP — Day one of the contested boundary trial between Northern Township and Bemidji wrapped up on Monday at Northern Town Hall, despite efforts from both sides to find a compromise to prevent the contested trial. Northern Township will spend the rest of the week laying out its case for incorporation. The trial is held from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Northern Town Hall every day of the week and is open to the public. The final court date in Northern Township will be Friday, Oct. 3. Bemidji will follow with a week of court time, beginning on Monday, Oct. 6, until Friday, Oct. 10, at Bemidji City Hall.
