Craig Monaghan, of Woolacombe Close in Latchford, is accused of trespassing at an address in south Wales while possessing the weapon. As well as the 40-year-old, five others – Enrico Poli, Bradley Whitaker, Mohammed Mills, Michael Quinn, and Josh Whelan – have been charged. Each has been charged with aggravated burglary, with the particulars of the charge alleging that they trespassed at an address in Garnant, near Swansea, on May 29, 2021, while armed with an axe, and attempted to steal. Magistrates sent the case to Swansea Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing yesterday, Monday. All six defendants pleaded not guilty to both charges, with judge Geraint Walters setting a trial date for February 23 next year.
