MITCHELL — Another season of Mitchell High School marching band competitions kicked off last weekend, and again the local musical group secured a high finish among other large South Dakota and Minnesota high schools. This year’s marching band show is titled “Desperado,” and has a western theme. The Mitchell High School marching band is seeing good participation numbers for the 2025-26 school year. So I’m hoping to continue to build some numbers here in the next couple of years,” Van Peursem said. The band concludes its season with the Indoor Marching Show at the Performing Arts Center in Mitchell on Nov. 6.
