— A Lead man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for attempting to pass classified U.S. military information to a foreign government. John Murray Rowe Jr., 67, was sentenced Tuesday to 126 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $25,000 fine for attempted espionage. Rowe pleaded guilty last year to trying to deliver national defense information to a foreign government and to three counts of willfully sharing national defense information. ADVERTISEMENTFederal prosecutors said Rowe spent nearly 40 years working as a test engineer for defense contractors and held security clearances from secret to top secret. During sentencing, federal officials said Rowe’s actions were deliberate and endangered national security.
