China Welcomes LNG Shipment from Controversial Russian ProjectAs reported by Reuters, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker linked to Russia’s Arctic LNG 2 project has docked at the Beihai terminal in China. According to ship-tracking services like Kpler and LSEG, this facility exclusively handles shipments related to the Arctic LNG 2 initiative. PipeChina, which oversees operations at Beihai terminal, also did not respond promptly when contacted. Despite facing sanctions that have been imposed due to geopolitical tensions, Arctic LNG 2—predominantly owned by Novatek—has continued its operations since last year. Another sanctioned vessel named La Perouse is making its way toward the Bay of Bengal after traversing southern routes past Europe and Africa with a substantial load of LNG.
