A suspect has been arrested in the hit-and-run death of a man who was struck while riding a motorized scooter in Panorama City, authorities said Tuesday. The Arleta resident’s bail was set at $30,000, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. The impact caused Schombert to be ejected from the scooter and land in the roadway. “Following the first collision, a second vehicle collided with the motorized scooter proceeding northbound Woodman Avenue,” according to a police statement. “The driver in the second collision is cooperating with the investigation.”Arriving paramedics pronounced Schombert dead at the scene.
