On Tuesday, September 30, the Minnesota Wild and star forward Kirill Kaprizov agreed to a contract extension. The extension is for eight years and is worth a record setting $136 million, keeping Kaprizov in a Wild sweater through the 2033-34 season. In the 2024-25 season, Kaprizov battled injuries only playing in 41 regular season games. While on the ice he was stellar, amassing 25 goals and 31 assists for 51 total points. Kaprizov and the Wild will open the 2025-26 regular season on Thursday, October 9 in St. Louis against the Blues with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
