BAGHDAD — Iraq’s Ministry of Trade confirmed on Wednesday that German, Chinese, and Brazilian companies will establish car production lines in the country. The ministry said the vehicles will run on gas and be sold through installment plans. Ministry spokesperson Mohammed Hanoun told the state-run Iraqi News Agency that the project is moving forward according to technical and regulatory procedures with international companies. The companies are waiting to complete technical procedures before production begins. He added that the cars produced in Iraq will be advanced, environmentally friendly, and powered by gas as an alternative to gasoline.
