New figures show that St Paul’s Bay now has significantly more foreign residents than Maltese. According to the NSO 2024 data, there are 15,795 foreign men and 9,449 foreign women living in St Paul’s Bay. The number of Maltese residents is almost evenly split between men (7,454) and women (7,506), bringing the total Maltese population to 14,960. A similar situation is reported in Sliema, where in 2024 the foreign population was 12,446, compared to 10,284 Maltese residents.
