SHELLEY, Idaho — Bryan Searle dug potatoes early Sept. 29 and aimed to finish harvest the next day.
Idaho potato harvest is on or ahead of schedule, depending on location, thanks in part to mostly favorable conditions.
Idaho Potato Commission field surveys this year pegged planted acres at an estimated 313,045, similar to 2024.
Quality and yield looked “pretty average, but the average is pretty high quality,” Koompin said.
His crop has “really good size and quality, which equates to good yields,” he said.
