Spain’s police, in collaboration with Morocco’s police (DGSN) and judicial authorities, seized more than 11 tons of cannabis resin in less than a week during two major operations in Malaga and Algeciras, according to a security source. Authorities intercepted a refrigerated truck loaded with melons that arrived in Malaga from Algeciras and discovered 9.3 tons of cannabis resin hidden in the cargo. Police also seized the truck, its trailer, and two escort cars, and arrested six men who are now in pre-trial detention. In a separate operation, police inspected a van transporting furniture from Tangier to Malaga via Algeciras and uncovered 1.8 tons of cannabis resin, more than EUR 14,000 in cash, eight mobile phones, and arrested four suspects.
