The state of Texas is planning on a new trail that will be the biggest in the state. To coincide with the 200th anniversary of Texas' Independence, the state is building a 100 mile trail from The Alamo in San Antonio to the state Capitol in Austin. The route will connect Barton, San Marcos, Comal, and San Antonio Springs, weaving together natural springs, historic sites, and scenic landscapes, according to Chron. "The Texas Bicentennial Trail will showcase the beauty, character, and independence of the State of Texas and provide significant economic impact to the state," said State Representative Will Metcalf. The trail starts just South of Richards, Texas and ends North-West of Cleveland, Texas.
