It is now affordable, senior-living housing that preserves its longtime service to the Black community of Delray Beach. Through threaded memories and stories stitched across generations, the exhibit journeys into the legacy of the LaFrance Hotel. The LaFrance Hotel became more than lodging; it was a sanctuary. “LaFrance Hotel: Havens of Joy” stitches together stories of fashion, music, community kinship, and the working-class elegance of the era. The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum was established in July 2001 by the non-profit organization, EXPANDING AND PRESERVING OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE, INC., a 501(c)3 Florida organization.
