Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with an attempt to disrupt the announcement of results during the Student Union Government (SUG) election at Ebonyi State University. The suspects reportedly fired gunshots to disperse the crowd during the announcement of the election results. He added that one student was hit by a stray bullet and was immediately rushed to Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, for medical attention. This recent disruption mirrors earlier unrest in academic institutions, such as in July at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, where the Students’ Union Government election also degenerated into chaos.
