Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines will offer two free checked bags as a perk for cardholders of its branded Mastercard, making the credit card even more appealing. Travelers will now receive up to two free checked bags on flights booked directly on Spirit's website or the Spirit app with their eligible card. In addition to the checked bags, cardholders receive access to priority check-in and priority boarding, complimentary upgrades, and a 25% rebate on inflight food and drink purchases. The perk also comes months after Southwest Airlines ended its long-standing "bags fly free" policy of offering every passenger two free checked bags. Premium economy comes with a free carry-on bag, while Spirit First includes a free checked bag.
