James Michael Shelley, 76, died at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital on September 10, 2025. An inquest into his death was opened at Bournemouth Town Hall on September 22 by area coroner Brendan Allen. He was admitted to the hospital on September 10 for a planned operation on an abdominal aortic aneurism. A provisional medical cause of death has been given as: haemorrhagic shock, pelvic vein bleeding, abdominal aortic aneurism operation and connective tissue disorder.
