Cleveland Institute of Art went into lockdown Tuesday after someone made a threat against the school, a spokesman said.
Lucas DaprileCLEVELAND, Ohio - A bomb threat at the Cleveland Institute of Art on Tuesday prompted the canceling of classes, the evacuating of buildings and the closings of streets, authorities said.
Officers from Cleveland police, Case Western Reserve and Cleveland State universities responded, along with Cleveland firefighters.
It reopened about 1:15 p.m.It’s unclear exactly how the threat was communicated, but Butz said students and staff at Cleveland Institute of Art are safe.
After the institute received the threat, school officials contacted police, who advised them to evacuate and lock down the building, Butz said.
