This national event celebrates the importance of sheltered housing and aims to gain political backing for the future of the sector. Abbeyfield Woodlands is managed by the not-for-profit Abbeyfield Living Society (ALS), which operates a network of similar housing schemes, care homes and living complexes across the country. Mr Hatton's visit was an opportunity for residents to share their experiences of life at Abbeyfield Woodlands and the advantages of living in ALS's sheltered housing.
