A couple who worked under the name of 'Your Roof Buddy Ltd' have been sentenced after causing 'distress' to vulnerable residents across Dorset. The pair were prosecuted by Dorset Council's Trading Standards Service after targeting those between the ages of 65 and 93, initially suggesting minor repairs which would escalate to claims that entire roofs needed replacing. Smith’s company allegedly carried out 'substandard' roofing work at inflated prices and falsely claimed to be a member of Checkatrade.
