Evie Snedker, 26, is sailing to Gaza alongside Greta Thunberg with the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying baby formula and food to Gaza, in an attempt to “open a humanitarian corridor,” amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The flotilla is a coordinated international effort of 50 boats, carrying lawyers, doctors, artists and elected representatives from over 44 countries. Speaking about her motivations to join the flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, Evie said: “I went to Jordan a few years ago and spoke to a Palestinian refugee. Thunberg quit the executive committee – having her name removed from list of management members – following several delays to the flotilla, that was already expected to have arrived in Gaza. The Swedish activist has departed ‘Family,’ the ship that hosts the executive committee, and relocated to another vessel, ‘Alma,’ with the flotilla approximately 700 nautical miles from Gaza.
