Since she entered Kenyan politics as a nominated MP in 2007, Millie has gone from strength to strength, and this was clearly on display in 2024. Millie is a vocal advocate for women’s rights and has been instrumental in pushing for progressive laws related to gender equality and children's welfare. To this effect, Millie sponsored various legislative bills relating to reproductive health in Parliament. In 2024, Millie took her advocacy efforts up a notch by championing stronger protections for survivors of gender-based violence and measures to improve the representation of women and marginalised groups in governance. The well-attended event included notable figures such as Martha Karua and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, further underlining her respected position in Kenyan politics.
