The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has extended the closure of a section of the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway between Makupa Bridge and Changamwe interchange by 11 days. According to Kimeli, closure will allow for road construction and drainage works along the route to enhance connectivity between the Makupa Bridge and the Changamwe area. To manage traffic, the authority has displayed a traffic management plan that will require motorists to share a section of the Nairobi-bound road. The Makupa bridge -Changamwe Interchange drainage construction works began in November 2024, according to KeNHA.
