Osun: Police Pledge Fairness To All Political PartiesThe Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleiman Abba has given assurance that the Force will allow a level playing ground for all political parties in the Saturday, August 9, Osun governorship election. IGP Abba warned politicians and VIPs not to move about on the day of the poll with uniformed or armed orderlies, while use of siren would not be allowed. The forum, held in Osogbo, was graced by the INEC National Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, representatives of the Army, DSS, FRSC and NSCDC. Others in attendance were politicians, civil society groups, traditional rulers and representatives of political parties. Meanwhile, the Force have announced the commencement of the state’s extensive security operations which it stated include deployment of plain cloth detectives and surveillance helicopters for aerial patrols, while the anti-bomb squad, specialized and tactical units were already on ground to support the operations.
