According to officials, the tragic mishap occurred when the workers from Assam and surrounding areas fell to their deaths as the steel arch collapsed. “There was an unfortunate incident at the Ennore Thermal Power construction site where a steel arch fell and nine people died. BHEL officials are present at the spot,” Dr J Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), told reporters at the incident site.
