LASU Students On Rampage In Lagos Over Increase In FeesAngry students of the Lagos State University, LASU, on Tuesday paralysed traffic on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway as they protested vehemently over the hike in tuition fees. The students demanded that the Lagos State Government should immediately reduce the school fees from N390,000 to N48,500 maximum or nothing. Motorists who were on their way to their respective destinations lamented the helpless situation as men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and Police were unable to disperse the rampaging students from the road. The students displayed placards with various inscriptions, such as: “Fashola revert LASU school fees now,” ” Education is a right and not a privilege”. We had a meeting with the committee members set up by Governor Fashola to look into the matter last week Tuesday.
