This was the case with me and The Bride!, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s upcoming new take on the Bride of Frankenstein story. Today, the world finally got to see the teaser trailer… and it somehow exceeded my hype. Some might feel echoes of 2023’s Poor Things (which itself is inspired by the Frankenstein mythos), but The Bride! Despite being the titular character, she doesn’t fare much better in 1935’s Bride of Frankenstein movie, only being reanimated in the movie’s final moments to (understandably) freak out about her new supposed suitor.
