Women Stage Protest In Anambra Over Incessant Rape, Murder By Ebonyi Boys(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Dozens of Women in Umunze Community in the Orumba South Council area of Anambra State, South East Nigeria, Tuesday staged a peaceful protest over the killing of a 72 year old Woman by suspected ritualists and incessant raping of their Women by boys from Ebonyi state. The protest by the Women, paralyzed social and economic activities in the area, as markets were shut down. The protesting women with green leaves and placards with different inscriptions also demanded for mass exit of all Abakiliki Indigenes out of Umunze town for the atrocious act. They equally condemned the killing of Mrs. Charity who was raped and murdered for alleged money making rituals. I have instructed the youths to exercise restraint while awaiting the outcome of the case”, he said.
