Lagos Is Like New York, No Man’s Land – Charly Boy(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Veteran Nigerian singer and entertainer, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy and Area Fada, has joined the argument that Lagos State does not belong to any particular tribe in the country. Joining his voice with the popular phrase that “Lagos is a no man’s land”, Charly Boy likened the coastal city to New York City in the United States. He said: “This is our first capital, so it has people from different ethnic groups who make Lagos bubble. “From that perspective, in terms of people coming together, it is really a no man’s land, it’s like New York. Lagos is like the New York of Nigeria.”The “Nwata Miss Crooner” slammed the Lagos State Government for “being jittery” and “acting out tribal politics.”
