President Dr Irfaan Ali has reassured that Parliament will be reconvened in accordance with the Constitution of Guyana. “Guyana, you can trust the PPP/C government to do everything within the Constitution,” President Ali said. He referenced Article 69 (1) of the Constitution of Guyana, which governs the reconvening of Parliament after it has been dissolved. “I still have a lot of time in the Constitution to reconvene Parliament,” the President explained. Clerk of the National Assembly Sherlock Isaacs has confirmed that he has received the names of all 65 Members of Parliament (MPs) to be appointed.
