Transporter Petitions FG over Oyo NURTW Extortion of Money to Fight EbolaMr Kehinde Oluyole, member, National Union of Road Transporter Worker (NURTW) Oyo State chapter has petitioned the Federal and State governments over alleged extortion of N80 million to fight Ebola Virus.
Oluyole, a transporter, made the allegation in a two-page petition made available to the Newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday.
In the petition, he claimed that each of the 83 branches of the union spread across the 33 local governments in Oyo state were to pay N850,000 to the coffers of the state Union to fight the dreaded Ebola Virus.
The petitioner alleged that on Oct. 20, the Oyo state chairman of the Union, Mr Taofeek Oyerinde (a.k.a Fele) summoned all the 83 branches chairmen to a meeting where the directive was given.
Oluyole said he claimed that the money would be used to fight Ebola Virus Disease in the state and other projects.
