DOJ: Illegal immigrant sentenced to 35 years for child exploitation in IndianapolisINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 35-year-old illegal immigrant residing in Indianapolis was sentenced to 35 years for the sexual exploitation of a child, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday in a news release. Carlos Fredy Granados had pleaded guilty to charges including sexual exploitation of a child, coercion and enticement of a minor, and possession of child pornography. Authorities say Granados between May 2023 and August 2023 exploited a 15-year-old girl under his care, producing images and videos of the abuse. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of child sexual abuse on Oct. 28, 2023, after a witness found nude images and videos on Granados’ phone. Investigators discovered 12 sexually explicit videos and 16 images of the minor, some featuring Granados.
