Hearing Adler’s request, the judge ordered Torres-Mendoza and the attorneys in the case to return at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 21 for a decision on the appeal. His latest court appearance comes after Williams reversed her March decision in May, ruling that he was incompetent to stand trial. While searching for the suspect, officers first found one victim, a 21-year-old man, with two stab wounds to the chest. He was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. in the 4900 block of Vanden Road, jail records indicate.
