News in brief:Virgin Atlantic loses another airline partnerIt hasn’t been a good year for Virgin Atlantic and its airline partners, although to be fair it can’t be blamed. In April, Singapore Airlines broke off its Virgin Atlantic partnership. This had been on the cards ever since Virgin Atlantic joined the SkyTeam alliance, and in truth there was so much small print that it was virtually impossible to book flight redemptions. In June, Hawaiian Airlines broke off its Virgin Atlantic partnership after the airline was acquired by Alaska Airlines, a member of the competing oneworld alliance. You can find out more on the ITA Airways page of the Virgin Atlantic website.
