A Lindley woman is facing felony charges after investigators say she lied to receive more than $500 in public assistance. Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard announced the arrest of 28-year-old Kerstyn M. Buck on Tuesday. She’s accused of filing false paperwork with the county Department of Social Services between July 8 and August 31, resulting in $515 in benefits she wasn’t eligible to receive. Buck is charged with offering a false instrument for filing and falsifying business records, both class E felonies. Sheriff Allard thanked the county’s Department of Social Services and the District Attorney’s Office for helping with the investigation.
