Yessenia Mendoza of Escondido will be one of six North County residents honored on September 24 with the 5th annual North County Hispanic Heritage Awards. Mendoza is a first generation Mexican-American and the eldest daughter in her family. Since becoming part-owner in 2017 she has provided fresh energy and bold leadership at her companyShe has been subject of extensive praise for her work with the Escondido Chamber of Commerce. At the July Chamber installation, Mendoza was honored as Foundation Board Member of the year, and City counaoutgoing Chairwoman Deanna Smith added, “She is the wind beneath of the sails of the Chamber.
