Former Royal Navy colleagues will get together in the town to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the town’s special relationship with HMS Jupiter. HMS Jupiter was launched in 1967 and became Middlesbrough’s adopted warship in 1975. HMS Jupiter Association Secretary Ken Williams, who was on board from 1977 to 1985, said: “We’ve always been made to feel very welcome in our adopted home, and this is a particularly special year for HMS Jupiter and the Association.
