The order is the latest evidence of increasing police effort to crack down on the shoplifting epidemic. Hook was also sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 18 months, 120 hours of unpaid work, and required to comply with up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity. PC Andy Caldwell, of Wilthsire police, said: “This Criminal Behaviour Order has been put in place to protect local retailers and their staff from repeated theft and disruption. “It sends a clear message that persistent anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in Swindon. We remain committed to supporting businesses and taking firm action against those who repeatedly offend.”
