The Aberdeen City Council at its regular meeting Monday approved the first reading of a capital improvement budget to change main street in downtown Aberdeen from a one way to a two way. The vote was 5-4. Council members Alan Johnson, Talmage Ekanger, Charlotte Liebelt and Rob Roynane all voted against the motion. Councilmembers Rich Ward, Erin Fouberg, Chad Nilson, David Novstrop and Aberdeen Mayor Travis Schaunaman voted yes. The motion that was approved 6-3, establishing northbound and southbound lanes of traffic without a left turn lane onto sixth avenue.
