Wales & West Utilities said it is “progressing well” with its project to upgrade gas pipes in the Walton Road area of the town. The company said scheme is “vital to ensuring gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area - helping to keep people warm for decades to come”. The gas emergency and pipeline service continues to work with North Somerset Council to plan the project, and it has been agreed that traffic management will be in place during the worksThese include a closure on Walton Road, between Tickenham Road and Valley Road and traffic lights on Walton Road, between its junctions with Valley Road and Holly Lane. “While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of this community. “This work is essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport green gases in the future.”
